Religious School
Sundays at their best! We quietly boast of our more than 150 students in Pre-K through 7th grades. Torah stories? Of course, and so much more. Music class and Israeli dancing are favorites. How about our "Why be Jewish?" curriculum and our "Life Cycle" class? These are not our typical "Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob" rote-memory Torah classes. Sure, we teach Torah, but we teach about identity and cultural values with just as much ruach (spirit).
Come join us Sunday mornings from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm. There are no classes during the summer.
Hebrew and Pre-Bar / Bat Mitzvah Education
Sure, they know their alef-bet, but do they feel a commitment to K'lal Yisrael (the people of Israel--us)? Have they mastered leading a Torah service? Do they want to know alittle more about the expectations placed on generations before them? Then, this is the right class for them. We begin with our Alef class and teach our students to read and write in Hebrew, all the while echoing the chants they hear during Erev Shabbat services.
A little behind? Don't worry. We have a four-year comprehensive program that focuses on Hebrew, but we also understand the practicality of Bar/Bat Mitzvah goals. Join this dynamic group of more than 60 pre-teens as they embark on one of the most precious life cycle events of their lives.
Hebrew School meets from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Sunday mornings, and on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. There is no school during the summer.
Confirmation

Class times will be Wednesday nights from 6:45 - 8:40 p.m. For more information, please contact The Jewish Federation at (916) 486-0906.
