Neighborhood Meetings Update
We’ve completed the neighborhood meetings. We met at 20 locations to give everyone a convenient place to express their thoughts, ideas, and shared vision for the future of Or Rishon. Information from these meeting is now being reviewed and consolidated. As promised, the task force will present a report and recommendations to the Board of Directors in June. A report on the Board actions will be available at the end of June.

We wish to thank all attendees for their contributions. Please continue to express your opinions – they are welcome and appreciated. Any additional thoughts and comments you have can be sent to facilitators@orrishon.org.

Scrip News:
"Do you shop at one of the new Nugget grocery stores? Nugget has a scrip program, though it’s a little different from others. You get a reloadable scrip card and, the first time you load it at your local store, you turn in a form designating the organization you want to support. You load it at the store with whatever amount you choose. Then, use it to pay for your purchases. TOR will get 3% of whatever you load on your card.

Cards are available from a scrip seller or at the store. Just fill out the information and list Temple Or Rishon as the beneficiary.

Mother’s Day is fast approaching, and right behind that will be Father’s Day and Graduations. Check out the list of scrip we carry, and those available by special order. You’re sure to find many great gift ideas."

Call Karen Ziman at 933-6537 or email at karziman@aol.com for more information or to place a special order.

TOR Through the Years
Many of you have been documenting the history of TOR on the sheets at the back of the social hall. This is information has been captured and now needs your review, corrections, and input. The outcome of this effort will be published at our Gala 25th anniversary ball next March 8th. Please take a few minutes to review the information (click here) and send your comments/corrections/updates to tedbee@surewest.net.

Temple Or Rishon's Woman of Distinction 2008
Janet Berman-Brooks was honored as Temple Or Rishon's Woman of Distinction at a luncheon held on Sunday, January 27th at the North Ridge Country Club. Hadassah sponsors this community-wide event annually to celebrate the accomplishments of women from the various Jewish organizations in the Sacramento area. This event gives our Jewish Community the opportunity to join together and thank some of our community's key volunteers for all they have done. Our gratitude goes out to Janet for all the time and energy she has put forth in support of Temple Or Rishon. For pictures of this event, click here.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL PICNIC
